I am writing from the point of view of an MRCPsych psychiatrist who has achieved CCT in the UK. I am interested in ADHD and Autism in adults without intellectual disability. Currently there is no specialty training for these conditions in able adults, as the specialty of Psychiatry of Intellectual disabilities mainly focuses on adults with intellectual disability, and the specialties of Child and adolescent psychiatry and Community paediatrics obviously focus on children and young people.
I am developing a special interest by attending courses, learning from experts, seeing patients during the course of my work, and doing my own research. I am hoping that the website will be useful for clinicians, students, trainees or qualified, as well as non-clinicians who want to learn more about the neurodiversities.
